Third Strand Baby Kade
“My family has a strong cancer gene that unfortunately has taken many of my aunts all my fathers side of the family. Due to knowing this my doctors recommended I get genetic testing to see what my odds were of getting breast cancer. When the results came back it wasent a matter of "if" i got breast cancer it was "when".
So I made the decision back in 2016 to have a double mastectomy. I knew this did not take away my chances of getting breast cancer but I knew it decreased them tremendously but also with that came the decision of knowing I would never be able to breastfeed my children when that time came.
Fast forward to this year, 2022, when my husband and I at the beginning of this year dealing with the news we had just found out it was going to be nearly impossible for us to get pregnant even with medical help. Obviously this was devastating but we knew God still had a plan so we prayed and were trying to figure out our next steps. Till one day, I got a random feeling to go take a pregnancy test and to our surprise it was positive.
A complete shock and total blessing and we have been so thankful during this journey but as the time went on, I knew I had to an option for feeding since I knew I was not able to. I planned to formula feed until I heard my cousins story who also had the same surgery as me and I decided to reach out to see if this possible for me.
I am so thankful I did because I know my baby will be getting the best within his first few months. So thankful that I am able to give that to my son thanks to Third Strand. This would not be possible without them.”
